The decision to seek legal advice is not always an easy one to take and at HRJ we recognise that many people will be anxious when attending the first meeting with their lawyer. We therefore work at trying to put you at your ease and to provide you with as much information as possible in order to try and alleviate some of that anxiety.
In order for us to be able to provide you with the necessary advice it is essential for us to be given accurate information from the start. We would therefore recommend that clients bring all the necessary paperwork to their first meeting. The following lists give examples of what documents might be relevant to certain cases:
Employment
- Contract of employment
- Latest payslip
- Company Handbook
- Relevant correspondence
- Records of any meetings held
Family
- Details of the family income and assets
Personal Injury
- Details of the other party
- Household contents or motor insurance policy
- Photographs of accident scene
We are also now required to hold identification of all clients and we therefore ask you to also bring with you two forms of identification, one of which should have a photograph such as Passport or driving licence and one that contains your address such as bank statement, utility bill etc.
